The primary focus of this program is to present a survey of collections representing a wide range of diversity in visual art and culture. Museums, cultural institutions, arts organizations as well as individual artists are afforded opportunities to exhibit their collections of wares, artifacts and original artwork.
The Art Advisory Committee oversees the selection of artists for the Airport Art Program. The committee consists of members who advise and make recommendations to the Airport Authority Board concerning:

The Performing Arts Residency Program will provide a platform for the development and performance of new work that simultaneously enriches the airport environment and cultivates the regional performing arts community. This opportunity is a process-oriented residency program open to performing arts groups working in all disciplines including dance, music, theater, as well cross-disciplinary digital media. San Diego International Airport seeks a resident performing arts group to create, rehearse, and perform orginal work inspired by or develped in response to the Airport environment.

The Art Program currently works with a performing arts production specialist to schedule all of the performances at the airport. Performances occur regularly every third Thursday of the month. Special performances are scheduled quarterly during the day and occasional performances are showcased during the winter holiday season.

The Art Program is seeking to contract with a Performing Arts Production and Programming Specialist to perform a range of technical and curatorial functions requiring creativity and resourcefulness to secure, manage, and produce a variety of live music, dance and theatrical events at the airport.
The selected candidate will work with Art Program staff to provide a broad framework of standard guidelines and procedures for the Specialist to manage weekly scheduled and special event performances.
